WIN - SnuggleBug NapSac

Here at 24/7 MOMS we found a great companion for kids during nap time!

A Washable Nap Mat, Blanket, Pillow and Carrying Sack All-In-One.Perfect for Day Care, Nap Time, Babysitter's and Travel.

About

How Did SnuggleBug NapSac® Get Started? Since necessity is the mother of invention and I am a working mother of two, the idea for a nap mat, blanket, pillow and carrying sack was born out of need. One day, when my daughter, Leah, was in daycare, I observed her class at nap time and realized that the blanket I was sending to school really wasn't enough. Leah’s face arms and legs were sticking to the school’s plastic mat. I thought maybe a pillow would help, but that wouldn't really solve the problem of not having something clean and comfortable to lie on as well as cover her. Another problem I noticed at the day care was storage. Bed size blankets and pillows are incredibly bulky and don’t fit into little cubbies. And they can't hang on a hook. How to store all these blankets and pillows between naps in a sanitary way is a real problem for day cares. And with head lice outbreaks more and more common, I found that having an attached pillow flip into the carrying sack was an excellent solution.

Reindeer hands and feet pillow

The perfect simple craft and gift for you kids to create and give.

Valerie and Janelle showed us this fun craft on our 24/7 MOMS live web show on November 17th.

They suggested using a thick piece of material that you allow your children to place their foot print on as the Reindeer's face, then place their two hand prints on for the Reindeer's antlers. Add wiggle eyes and a red small pom pom nose along with a bow tie. Then sew these into pillows.

* Idea - Use the same idea on a apron, tote bag or t-shirt.

25 day Countdown Calender You Can Create

Time to countdown to Christmas with Janelle's fun calender idea she shared with us on the November 10th 24/7 MOMS Live web cast.

She used a large artist's canvas that she painted red, then glued 25 small paper bags ( you could use envelopes) then used pre-bought scrap booking supplies for the numbers and other cut outs to add creativity. For each day she used a large package/price tag to write the 25 day activity idea on and placed it inside of each bag/envelope.

I found a few places you can buy 25 days of Christmas supplies.

WIN - My Life Unscripted

This is a WONDERFUL book for any teen in your life. I gave a copy to my cousin last year!

My Life Unscripted: Who's Writing Your Life?

Using the metaphor of screenwriting, My Life, Unscripted explores relationships in every teenage girl's life-with herself, her friends and enemies, her parents, guys, and with God.
Real-life scripts, screenwriting terms, and timely topics, make this an interesting read for teen girls as they delve into their own inner struggles and outward relationships. They'll also learn the importance of "scripting" their own responses BEFORE challenging life-situations arise, so they are able to think about, pray about, and consider how to face these situations before the scene begins. By contrasting real-life with TV or movies, teens discover they don't have to get caught up in the drama.

Leading shower expert Susan Newton has been the go-to guru for all things baby shower, bridal shower and bachelorette party for more than a decade. Today, as "The Shower Diva," she creates memorable events for celebrities and appears at trade shows and in the media to teach consumers how to throw upscale showers.

Bride Bingo Deluxe
Here's a full-color twist on classic bingo -- fun to play at any shower!
In this version, guests are handed colorful cards with love- and wedding-themed pictures: a sunset, a diamond ring, a bouquet, and more. One bridesmaid is the "caller," and guests mark off corresponding items on their cards. The first person to get five in a row and yell "BRIDE BINGO " wins! There are 3 squares on each card which allow each guest to write in the name of the bride, the groom and their wedding date. The bride will blush with joy every time she hears her name called during each game. You supply the markers (m&ms or kisses) - just be sure your guests don't eat them while in play!!

The follow-up to last year’s first Disney Fairies video game allows gamers to play through memorable moments seen in the DVD/Blu-ray release of the same name and create and personalize up to five fairies, from facial features to hair accessories, each with different talents focusing on tinkering, light, water, animal and gardening. Building a stronger bond between you and your fully customized DS avatars is the ability to upload one personalized fairy to Pixiehollow.com - the online virtual world for Disney Fairies where more than 22 million fairies currently reside - where you can embark on exciting quests, play talent games, solve puzzles and gather hundreds of items. Tapping into your creative side, you can even craft your own fashions and accessories, bake sweet treats and build incredible furniture and décor for your home.

JONAS is inspired by the Disney Channel Original Series starring the Jonas Brothers, whose characters juggle everyday school and family life as it collides with the pop star world. The game lets fans play as three of the hottest rock stars on the planet, Nick, Joe and Kevin Lucas. Players help the band, JONAS, tear up the stage in six concerts, hang out with friends Macy and Stella, and visit locations such as the brother’s firehouse and school as seen on the TV show. JONAS also features popular tunes sung by the Jonas Brothers on the show which players can jam to in performance mode. In addition, players can customize the brothers’ outfits for cool looks in school and in performance mode. In story mode, players collect musical notes to power up their guitars and then strike the right guitar chords to overcome obstacles.

This eighth audio release in the award-winning Stories and Music CD series for narrator and symphony orchestra is a delightful adaptation of the classic fable is set to an original score by conductor/composer Stephen Simon and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Yadu, the dramatic and humorous narrator, tells the tale of the speedy Hare who stops to rest while racing with the Tortoise. As the Hare sleeps, the ever diligent the Tortoise lumbers by “slow and steady” and wins the race. The story is animated by a bevy of animal friends, with a French twist in the character of Mrs. Beaver who runs the bistro where haughty Hare stops for some French onion soup. You already know the ending, but it’s as fun as ever to hear it again on this musical re-telling.

Continuing the award winning tradition of beautiful music blended with great stories, this CD includes six supplemental tracks including information about the tale, how the music is composed, and a Dixieland rendition of a funny original song, “Pretzel Vendor of Paris.” The production concludes with a family sing-along. A 24-page activity booklet, including a wonderful illustration of the instruments of the orchestra, laid out in a typical staging, accompanies the CD with illustrations by nationally recognized children’s book illustrator Renee Andriani.
Composer and conductor Stephen Simon, and producer Bonnie Ward Simon originally created and performed The Tortoise and the Hare for the Concerts for Young People series at the Kennedy Center in Washington. The release of The Tortoise and the Hare confirms their continuing commitment to provide opportunities for children and their families to expand listening horizons, hone listening skills, accumulate musical memories and encourage children and adults to listen together.

Simple Glass Ornament Wreath

Creating Simple Christmas crafts and gifts was the topic of a recent 24/7 MOMS Live show with guest Valerie and Janelle. We promised that we would begin sharing some of their simple ideas on the web site after Thanksgiving today we have instructions for you on How to Make a Glass Ornament Wreath that Valerie showed us.

* Note a great place to purchase your ornaments is at your local Dollar Stores.

How to Make a Glass Ornament Wreath
from eHow.com
Make a Glass Ornament Wreath

Wreaths made of glass ornaments are a glamourous take on the holidays. They can often retail for $50 or more, but you can make yours on the cheap.

Things You'll Need:

  • Glass ornaments of varying sizes and colors
  • Foam wreath
  • Hot glue gun
  1. Step 1

Heat up the glue gun over a piece of newspaper.

  2. Step 2

Lay the foam wreath on top of the newspaper and plan how you will lay out the ornaments. It helps if you have a picture of your ideal wreath.

  3. Step 3

Clip the tops of the ornaments where the ornament hook attaches. Do not remove the entire apparatus, just the loop. Make sure the tops are well attached.

  4. Step 4 Use the glue gun to affix the ornaments on the wreath in a circular pattern.

WIN- A Glove Of Their Own Book

If I had to pick only one favorite Children's book for 2009 it would have to be " A Glove Of Their Own" A children’s book that is touching hearts across the nation. Written by Debbie Moldovan, Keri Conkling and Lisa Funari-Willever. The first time I sat down with my two little boys and read them this story I struggled holding back the tears, my boys kept saying mommy what is wrong? The story was a gentle reminder once again of how blessed I am and that as a family we need to find ways to serve and give to those in need. The mission of A Glove Of Their Own offers perfect opportunities for all of us to be a part of playing the game forward.

A Glove of Their Own
is for the kids who toss the bat to choose captains and pick teams, playing in a neighborhood field or an empty lot. You’ll find no coaches, no concession stands, and sometimes just an old bat and ball. But once the first pitch is thrown, you’ll find the real heart and soul of America. You’ll find baseball in its purest form. And the publisher of A Glove of Their Own wants to help all kids know this simple joy by donating a portion of the proceeds to help bring equipment to the kids who play without it.

"For few things in life are ever as good, as the smell of your own glove, the crack of the wood. Or being with friends, at that one special spot and sharing what you have…. with those who have not."

Beyond the words of this book is a deeper meaning of the mission behind “A Glove of Their Own.” Bob Solomon is eager to teach the next generation the importance of giving back by becoming aware of those around us who would otherwise go without. He believes this book is the vehicle that will drive us to deliver new and used sporting goods equipment or funds to children in need.

These fundraising opportunities will range from schools to book fairs, baseball venues to retail events. They will be hosting such events including visits by professional players with surprise giveaways, family fun and entertainment. Through these events they anticipate fulfilling their goal of spreading the word of this story as well as raising both awareness and funds for children across the nation. In addition, they welcome the opportunity to join forces with any organization sharing their vision. As a result of that collaboration, they will donate proceeds from the sale of each book to their own organization or children’s charity of your choice.

They are hopeful they will inspire your desire to join them and Play It Forward.

Here are some of ideas to help you join their team and… play the game forward.

  • Your school can earn $3 for every book sold. Request a form from Bob Salomon via e-mail agototellus@aol.com
  • Share the book and its message with everyone you know. By simply telling friends, family, and co-workers about the story and our mission, you become an MVP to kids who play without.
  • Purchase a copy of A Glove of Their Own and a donation is made to three organizations, Good Sports, Pitch In For Baseball, and Sports Gift, so they can collect or purchase sports equipment for kids who would otherwise go without.
  • Donate your old sports equipment to Pitch In For Baseball, Sports Gift, or a local organization.
  • Check out their sites and make a cash donation to Good Sports, Pitch In For Baseball, or Sports Gift.
  • Organize a local sports equipment collection drive. This can be done over a short period of time or it can become an ongoing part of your school or organization’s athletic program. (And just think what you can do with all of that extra space in your garage!
  • Advertise A Glove of Their Own to your group’s members and community and earn $3.00 for every copy ordered by your organization’s members. They will gladly donate $3.00/book sold to organizations that wish to promote the book to their members and communities. It helps them spread the message, raises funds for their three designated charities, and raises funds for your organization. Simply contact , Bob Salomon at AGOTOTELLUS@AOL.COM and he will give you a code to share with your group. You simply advertise A Glove of Their Own and have your members use the special code as they checkout at www.franklinmasonpress.com. A $3.00 donation is made for all books you sell directly or through the Franklin Mason Press website when the code is used at checkout. There are no fees or quotas and organizations never handle the books or need to be involved with shipping. They can even include links to your organization on our website, sharing your message with our thousands of visitors.

WIN - PF Chang's Gift Card

The email arrived announcing PF Chang's was launching their first ever kids menu and asked if would I be interested in having my family experience this new menu. So, I quickly responded with a yes knowing my husband would be game for the experience.

Last week we headed up to Seattle with our 2 youngest boys who were ready to test out the new kids menu. We entered the restaurant and were quickly seated and given our menus I was eager to see the new kids menu and was completely surprised at what I found.

- Amazing Kid friendly menu choices

Kid’s Chicken: Kids’ #1 favorite! Served with Honey or Sweet and Sour dipping sauce.

Kid’s Lo Mein: Egg noodles stir-fried with chicken.

Kid’s Chicken Fried Rice: Every kid’s favorite without the veggies.

Baby Buddha’s Feast: Snap peas, carrots and broccoli served steamed or stir-fried.

-Affordable prices that will shock you

$2.95 - $4.95 depending on which kids meal you ordered for your children.

- Fun games and puzzles to keep your kids busy while you wait for your food to be served.

Warrior Wisdom: Can you color the warrior and draw a background scene?

Dot-to-Dot: Connect the dots to finish the picture.

Lucky Cat Fortune: How many words can you make from the letters in “Lucky Cat Fortune?”

Chopstick-Tac-Toe: Best two out of three games wins!

We placed our order and stayed busy completing the games and puzzles on our kids menus.

Then the food arrived and my kids eyes lite up and mouths began watering at the site of their meals.

- Large portions. We had plenty of leftovers to take home.

- Food was flavorful and kid perfect

- We will definitely return as a family to enjoy another affordable dinning experience.

“The new kid’s menu gives parents a great opportunity to dine as a family and order dishes specially created for children and introduce them to Chinese food.”
